Most people believe aerodynamics doesn't matter in gravel. They are wrong. The FLO G700 and FLO G650 will save you more than 8 minutes at Unbound 200. We've proven our gravel wheels save 11 watts over a traditional gravel wheel.
The deep aero rim profiles allows the air to reattach after leaving the tread of the gravel tire. A shallow wheel does not allow for this reattachment leaving the competition at a 11 watt disadvantage. The deep profile has the additional benefit of producing a leaf spring effect reducing vibration and improving your grip.

The larger tire acts as a shock allowing you to absorb impact of extreme terrain. This wheel is also a great choice for gravel cyclists lacking bike handling skills. The larger tires provide forgiveness for rider errors delivering a smoother faster ride.

We used our wheel optimization algorithm developed using more than 100,000 data points of on road data. our algorithm analyzes hundreds of rim shapes to produce a fast and stable wheel. The algorithm balances aerodynamics and crosswind stability to make sure you have a fast and stable ride.
We developed an on-road protocol to prove that a wider internal rim width lowers rolling resistance. The 18 month R&D project developed an internal rim width for optimizing rolling resistance. When you rolling resistance is lower you go faster. A lot faster. Combining this data with our tire studies we were able to save athletes more than 8 minutes by simply selecting the right tire and tire pressure.
A deep rim profile helps aerodynamics but when the carbon layup is design properly you get a leaf spring effect in the rim profile. As vibration from the gravel travels from the tires to the rim and on to the spokes, the leaf spring designed in the rim profile absorbs most of the vibration. This results in a wheel that stops bouncing and tracks straight. With improved grip for cornering and less rider fatigue you're ready to set a PR.
I’ve been riding G700s for over two years now. I first brought the to upgrade what came on my Specialized Diverge. The stock wheels were OK but I wanted something that felt faster and smoother. The G700s were exactly what I wanted. They track great and feel super stable. These are by far my favorite wheels. I’ve added two more pairs to my stable with a pair on my Single Speed Salsa Stormchaser. They are bomb proof and awesome!

Love these wheels! They roll really well, hold their speed, and can handle the wind. I’m a big guy and have used them without any issues on pavement, gravel roads, and rough gravel/easy mtb trails. They look really nice too!

Wheel selection can be tough. It's the most common question we receive at FLO.
